"I have been taking Trospium CL 60MG Capsules for over 20 years. You must take it an hour before you eat which I usually do in the morning before I eat breakfast. I think it works great. I have had some constipation but I eat a dark chocolate Milky Way Midnight mini bar every other day and that keep me regular. I am an 80 yr old female."

Sanctura (trospium) "After trying Vesicare, Enablex and Gelnique, I was giving up. My doctor suggested trying this one...Sanctura. I saw results the very next day. I can not only sleep through the night, I am no longer running to get to the toilet in the morning. I've only been on it 5 days. No side effects yet. But I also take stool softeners. No dry mouth...no sleepiness. I also have given up caffeine at the same time I began this pill. Not sure if that helped as well, but I am now very happy!"

Sanctura (trospium) "I started taking Sanctura a few months ago and I absolutely love it! I was urinating every 45 minutes. Since I've been taking it, I can now go for 3 hours at a shot, what a difference. The sleepiness of the pill went away after about a week of being on it. The dry mouth isn't bad. The pill has helped me wonderfully! I am so glad I take it."

"This medication has changed my life, literally. As a hairdresser, it was becoming increasingly difficult for me to do more than one client at a time before having to rush off to the bathroom because the urge to go hit me so badly. The urge to go was almost always accompanied by pain, which made it very difficult to hold my urine on the way to the bathroom. During an 8 hr shift, I was going around 7 times everyday, and countless other times at home. At night I would typically go between 3-5 times, never fully getting any rest. Since starting this pill about 2 months ago, I go maybe once or twice in an 8 hr shift. When I go, I'm not in a tight. When I feel the urge to go, I can suppress it until I have the opportunity to go."

"In addition to BHP, the urologist seemed to think I suffered from OAB and prescribed Trospium Chloride (20 mg/day). After the second or third day, I began to experience severe constipation and increasing nocturia (10 or more times during the night) and increased frequency during the day also. Finally stopped taking this medication. The same thing happened with Gemtesa."

"I switched over from Ditropan to trospium for OAB. Better urinary control, but still have stress related leak or outright flow. I was willing to live with that, with some lifestyle changes but about 3 months into treatment, I began to have horrendous constipation. I drink gallons of water, eat barrels of whole oats, bushels of fruits and veggies and still....days and days of pain and feeling I'm about to explode! I'm going to have to wean off and find another way to deal with the bladder. It's as if since starting this med, I have "created a monster" inside me. And it doesn't want to leave easily."

Sanctura (trospium) "It has been a tremendous improvement for me. Before the medication, I was unable to play in the yard with my children because of constant urges and frequent incontinence. Now (with the medication) I am training for my first 5K run. The urges are gone and I'm able to use the bathroom like a normal person. I don't have the fear of an accident like I did before. It's amazing!"

"I was really hoping this trospium would help me control overactive bladder especially at night, but instead it made it impossible for me to go and I would spent up to 30 minutes on the toilet unable to go. I also had severe blurry vision almost immediately. I do not recommend at all!"

Sanctura (trospium) "At times had terrible urgency, very problematic on travel and even daily life, meeting, traffic etc. Started with Vesicare, which worked quite well, but seemed to reach a plateau. I then started on Sanctura about 5-6 weeks ago. It seems to be even better for me than Vesicare. Very happy with it so far, even though I still not consider myself normal quite yet but any improvement is great. Compared to before the drugs, the improvement is fantastic, my best recommendations for this drug."

Sanctura (trospium) "This medicines side effect for me was really bad constipation. I was in and out the ER for constipation and not one doctor told me it could be this medicine. After getting off of it, it took me 9 long days to have a bowel movement but since getting off of it I am back to normal. This medicine never helped with my overactive bladder."

Sanctura (trospium) "I started Sanctura 4 months ago, I have had urgency and incontinence for many years, and have just lived with it. I have tried all of the other medications to no avail, one or 2 days benefit only. I complained, with much embarrassment to my Urologist he gave me samples of Sanctura. I will tell you I have been accident free for 4 months, the second day I took the medicine I saw a drastic difference, I wasn't running to the bathroom every 15 minutes. Wonderful medicine. No side effects."

Sanctura (trospium) "This medication seems to be working fairly well but I only started it last week. I reached a plateau with Vesicare which is fairly expensive. My biggest problem is constipation and tiredness. I am thinking about cutting down to one pill a day. If it doesn't work out I will go back to Vesicare. I am 64 years old female, and have had this problem over 30 years."

Sanctura (trospium) "I am only 39 years old, and having to go constantly after drinking water or pepsi. I feel like I can't go shopping or anywhere without having to worry about it. I tried 5 different pills and this was by far the best. The only side effect I have is a dry mouth, but it's not that bad. It comes and goes, and it's not so bothersome. This is the one I'm on now, and will stay on. The one thing I don't like, is that you have to take it one hour before breakfast. Sometimes it's hard for me to wait that long before I can eat - especially if I forget to take my pill, then have to wait even longer to eat."

Sanctura (trospium) "I am taking Spasmex for two weeks which is same as Sanctura (Trospium Chloride), I am feeling much better. I can tolerate all side effects except the fatigue and weakness that I am having in my legs. I cannot walk for a distance as I have to find a seat to rest my legs for a while. My doctor asked to reduce the dose but that did not help as my bladder turned overactive again. Now I am back with the same prescribed dose and will wait and see whether the side effects will go or I may ask to my Dr. to change the medicine if I couldn't tolerate my leg and muscle issue."

Sanctura (trospium) "Have been taking Trospium for 4 years, visits to the toilet have decreased to 5-6 visits in each 24 hr period. In my case it has not taking the feeling of needing to urinate away entirely but is more bearable and with will power and bladder training it has worked. Sometimes feels like I can't empty my bladder entirely but though this is frustrating it is not as bad as having to use the bathroom every hour or so"

"This medicine is horrible. I took it for OAB and it helped with the urgency and frequency but I got so constipated. I had to stop it. My constipation got so bad that I had to use a laxative that didn't work then an enema and that didn't work, I also had horrible stomach pain. After I stopped it took a few days and some laxatives to get regular."

"I have been using this meds for 6 months and find it’s not working. It may have helped very little in the beginning but as time goes by I find its not working as well as it did. I have no side effects but the drug is now not working anymore. Left a message with my Doctor office and was told I have to wait to get in. It’s now 10/17/18 and was told my doctor is booked until the end of December. Whatever happened to “do no harm” My doctor is in Suffolk County Long Island."

Sanctura XR (trospium) "Has worked very well for months but with recent recurrence of spasms. Never totally alleviated small amounts of leakage but made a huge difference. Possible breakthrough spasms are from caffeine intake (which is maybe 1 cup per day.)"

"I have been on Sanctura, and then on the generic Trospium Cl 60 MG ER for about 10 years. It helps a lot with alleviating frequent urination, urge and stress incontinence, and nocturia (night-time urination.) I still have to get up once or twice at night, but not nearly the frequency of about 6 times per night before I started this medication in the Extended Release form. Only side effects have been a chronic dry throat and sometimes dry eyes. Now all my local pharmacies suddenly have it on back-order, which disturbs me. I am left with a one month supply because they could not fill my doctor's order for 90 day supply. It is supposed to come back soon, but it is worrisome that it may not. So I am now investigating alternative meds and also have enrolled in physical therapy for the pelvic floor which is supposed to help."

"The trospium chloride has been fairly effective. The urologist had previously tried me on Enablex, which worked very well--my miracle. Unfortunately, it wasn't available at an affordable price on my Medicare plan, so we had to try something else. The trospium chloride has worked okay, but I still wake up in a panic in the night, and don't always make it to the toilet. (Very frustrating!) Just wish that there was a medication that was effective AND affordable!"

"I’m a 60 yr old female, history of kidney stones. After the last one, I ended up with urinary frequency and dribbling. My bladder felt constant pressure and like I was not completely voiding. Doctor diagnosed OAB, never had anything like this before and made my life a living hell very quickly. Urologist put me on Trospium and I read up on the side effects and was a bit worried. The first week I slept ALOT, it tapered off by the second week, and the full benefits kicked in. I feel like my old self again, not having to plot out bathrooms when leaving the house. I did notice some mild constipation, but I take 2 senna every morning to keep regular and so far works just fine. No other side effects, so I feel lucky compared to other reviewers. Still looking at alternative therapies like acupuncture and biofeedback, doing kegels 3x day as well, I don’t like taking pharmaceuticals so hoping to get off this med someday by using more naturopathic methods. This is the only medication I take."

"6 years ago I started to experience frequent urination and was unable to put off going. Was prescribed various medication all of which failed to offer any respite. All tests came back clear. GP prescribed Trospium and took this for two years and it cut down on visits to the loo although the feeling never went away. 2 Years later Amitriptyline was added & the next 2 years passed with a bit of the edge taken off. Then advised to discontinue Amitriptyline & just use Trospium due to difficult and painful urination. Been advised I have Hypersensitive neuraligic bladder. Try to come off Trospium and prescribed Pregabalin, One week off Trospium & OAB symptoms such as burning, frequent urination all returned back on Trospium start Pregbalin tonight"
